I have officially got my basic white bread recipe memorized!*

I did it from memory this morning and then double checked to make sure I was right:

1 1/2 C water, 2 TBS softened butter, 4C flour, 3 TBS Dry Milk, 2 TBS Sugar, 2 tsp salt, 1 1/2 tsp yeast.

Throw her in the bread machine on dough and wait.

Yes! It only takes little things in life to make me happy :)

Note*I wasn’t TRYING to memorize it-I just realized this morning that I had made it so many times that I knew it by heart.

And it looks delicious! I’m going to try that recipe in my bread machine! Did you have to get the yeast activated first?

Congrats! Isn’t it nice to have recipe memorized? Yesterday I realized that I finally have my recipe for healthy oatmeal chocolate chip cookies memorized. I have been making at least one batch a week for almost two months – so it’s about time! Have a great week!

I will make that. Thanks, Annette

When I have to replace my bread machine, I am going to look for one with a 4 cup of flour capacity. Presently I am limited to receipes which use 3 cups. Overflow is a very bad thing!

Thanks for sharing this! I have been trying to bake more bread so I am going to try your recipe :)

    Yummy!

Sharon-that isn’t a picture of my actual bread-I just searched flickr.com for a photo of bread that looked similar and had a creative commons copywrite that allowed me to use it.

Everyone else-I hope that the recipe works for you! I’ve been making it a lot, and it’s a nice plain loaf of bread.
