Spread the Cheer & Save Money (Frugal Christmas/Holidays: Crafts, Gifts and Decorations)

Welcome to the Frugal Christmas Series! Let’s all spread some holiday cheer by sharing our great money saving ideas!

The Christmas season is upon us! Although the advertising mavens out there would like us to believe that the holidays are all about what we can buy, in reality Christmas is more about what we do and share together.

To me the holidays are all about the religious-the coming of Jesus, and about the traditions and sharing that you do with family. Sure, a wonderful part of that is the gifts on Christmas morning. But even more than that I enjoy the PROCESS of Christmas. Pulling out box after box of decorations to literally “deck the halls”. The holiday music, the smells of wonderful things only baked once a year. The gathering of friends. . .

These things add to the enjoyment of the season, yet don’t need to put a strain on your pocketbook.

For the next few weeks we are sharing some of our best, frugal ways to celebrate the holidays. And although I am Christian and celebrate Christmas, I also hope that we have the opportunity to share and enjoy in the traditions of those who celebrate other faiths as well! Regardless of our beliefs, in all traditions this is a time for love, togetherness and family. And none of those things cost a cent!

So let’s start this series off with the more crafty and artistic side of things-Decorations, Crafts and Gifts (either homemade or found for a steal!).

I’ve written a lot on these topics over the last few years, so you’ll see a lot of my links! But I’ll also be regaling you all with more crafts and decorating ideas both this week and through the weeks leading up to Christmas.

So join in! It’s easy to do. Just write a post (or dig through your archives) and then come here and link it in the Mr. Linky below. Make sure that:

1-You give us a hint of your topic in parenthesis like this-

2-Link back to this post in your post

3-Grab the badge from my sidebar and put it on your site.

If you don’t have a blog, please feel free to enter by sending something to me via my contact form.

I can’t wait to see all of your ideas.

Oh, and coming soon in the next two weeks are Holiday Traditions and Frugal Holiday Recipes. Plan your posting accordingly!
