Red Robin 4th Annual Kid’s Cook-Off

My family has been incredibly supportive of my blogging ever since I began back in January of 2006.  They read it, they send articles on to friends, they comment.  They have just plain been proud of me and my efforts. Never, ever have any of them specifically asked for me to post something on my blog.

So when one of my sisters writes me and asks me to post something, I take it seriously.  It turns out that one of her friends is the Marketing Manager for Red Robin Intl and was telling her about the kid’s cook-off.

Over 11,000 kids entered the gourmet burger competition and were whittled down to a mere 10 finalists ranging in age from 7-12 yrs old.  The recipes will be judged on Dec 3rd in Denver, and the winning burger will be sold at Red Robin restaurants for the summer of 2010.  During that time $.50 from each of those burgers sold will be donated to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Now where does my helping come in?  Well, the public has the chance to vote, once a day, on the Red Robin Annual Cookoff page for the “Fan Favorite”.  The child with the most votes will be named fan favorite at the contest and win a $100 GC to Toys R Us (the actual winner of the contest gets a trip for their family to Orlando).

You’ve got it-she asked if I could put the word out there on my blog and ask folks to vote.

Oh, and if you aren’t my family, then you probably won’t have much luck emailing me and asking me to post about something similar. . . there is only so much time in the day and as you guys know I rarely post about non frugality related things.
