Review and Giveaway: Merry Madagascar Movie & Gift Pack

If you have kids in your house, I’m sure you’ve already heard of the “Madagascar” movie franchise.  Zoo animals~voiced by folks like Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett Smith and Andy Richter~are lost in the wilds of Madagascar. Madcap adventures ensue that are equally entertaining for children and adults.

Well folks, there is a new Christmas movie out, “Merry Madagascar”!  I was sent a review copy of the show-unfortunately it arrived while I was away on my cruise/conference and so I only got to watch it this morning.

It was an interesting experience, I’ve never received a true press/media preview video before. It comes on a plain DVD and has your name embedded over the video throughout:

The movie is short, just 30 minutes long, and very entertaining.  The madcap crew of misplaced zoo animals mentioned above accidentally shoot down Santa’s sleigh. Santa has memory loss and just wants to hang out and party, the reindeer have an ongoing feud with the penguins, and the animals just want to get back to New York City.  The pace is quick, the moral lessons are good, and the humor is humorous to both children and adults.  My kiddos loved the film and are likely to watch it over and over again-even when it isn’t Christmas.

Oh, and did I mention the unrequited Romeo and Juliet style love affair between a penguin and a reindeer? Priceless!

Not only did I get to review the movie (which showed on NBC last night and  is available for purchase exclusively at Walmart starting today) but I also get to give away a nice Merry Madagascar gift pack!

Movie, toys & snacks? Awesome!

The prize pack includes

  • 2 Merry Madagascar Plush Toys (may vary from those pictured)

Christmas isn’t Christmas without the opportunity to sing the Heat Miser/Cold Miser song at least once.

I have to admit that I have my own arrangement and I put much more feeling and enthusiasm into it than either of the characters in the movie.

I have no idea which movie it is. Here Comes Santa Claus, or The Year Without a Santa Clause, or one of those…
