Frugal Holiday Series

by Jenn @ Frugal Upstate on December 2, 2008

As holiday chaos overtakes us, I am rushing to get this Holiday Series started so we can all participate.

I am Christian, so obviously Christmas topics will dominate my conversation. I do enjoy learning about and sharing with folks of all religions and traditions-so I hope that the topics below will fit equally well with Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule or whatever season you celebrate at this time of year! I’m even willing to whip up a different version of the button above for those of different traditions of they wish (just leave a comment to let me know).

The series will run for a little more than 3 weeks. Each week will have a topic:

Week 1 (which is half over!) Frugal Presents, Crafts & Decorating.

I’d love to hear your ideas for frugal presents, crafts, decorating etc. I especially love to see pictures of what you’ve done!

Week 2 Family Holiday Traditions

Not all traditions are fancy. Sometimes the simplest ones, like putting the kids in the jammies and riding around town to look at the lights, can be the most meaningful! Please share with us what your traditions surrounding the holidays are. Although we prefer frugal, it’s ok if you have a special holiday tradition that is not specifically frugal. . . I’d still love to hear about it

Week 3 Frugal Holiday Recipes

We all have special food we serve throughout the holiday season. Even my most expensive meal of the year can be considered frugal when you compare it to a dinner out! Share your recipes with us all!

Week 4 will be a roundup with me highlighting a few posts that I found particularly interesting!

Each week will start with a post describing the topic and giving you details on how to link your post. So look for the first one tomorrow, December 3rd and start planning your holiday posts.

I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
