Fun Frugal Valentines Day Crafts & Printables

by Jenn @ Frugal Upstate on February 6, 2009

Today I thought I’d share a fun frugal crafts for Valentines day! Don’t worry, even the craft impaired can handle these ones. If you are still intimidated by the word “craft”, try some of the easy printables.

My lovely Mother in Law buys my kiddos their Valentines tohand out to their friends at school every year. If she didn’t, I think I’d have them make these cute lollipop “flowers” made out of construction paper hearts.

If those are too much work for you, head on over to Family Fun.com for their adorable printable kids classroom Valentines or you can print out these fun character Valentines from Nick Junior.

But what about free printable cards for grownups? Admittedly, many printable cards can be very cartoonish-but I was able to find a few sites that have professional, classy looking printable valentines day cards. My favorites were American Greetings and Free Printables.com

I have to admit, I don’t usually buy Martha Stewart Living (it always makes me feel like an inadequate decorator, gardener and hostess!) but I do enjoy browsing through her website when looking for holiday crafts. There are some of the cutest ideas and fabulous printables. When looking for Valentines day crafts I found these heart valentines that form their own envelope, easy accordion folded valentines and these beautiful Rose stamps you can make from vegetables!

Need a fun, holiday way to keep the kids occupied? Why not try some fun printable Valentines day word puzzles from Kaboose and these from Womens Work Station.

Cash a little tight this year? Want to give your partner lovely gift anyway? How about a printable coupon booklet? I’m sure they will love the opportunity to cash in a coupon for breakfast in bed! Or you could use this slightly more R Rated version from Romancestuck .

There you go, a plethora of free, fun and frugal Valentines Day ideas for you!

Great post! Part of the fun for kids in particular is getting all the cards ready and written for Valentine’s Day. I love the lollipop card. I could even see giving these out to some adults. I am going to leave one in the mailbox for the postman as a thank you and a few on top of the trash can (in a baggie)for the garbage men. It’s an inexpensive way to say than you and almost everyone regardless of age enjoys sucking on a tootsie roll loppipop. Thanks for the idea!
