Quick Post Christmas Tip

Busy Busy Busy here, but wanted to write something so you’d all know I was still around!
Something we did-
If you’ve got so many toys that the little ones haven’t even gotten around to playing with some of them yet, you may consider this. Put them away. That’s right-hide them. I took the tinker toys, 2 puzzles, some cards, a Barbie, 2 packages of playdough (they got four) and a beading kit and put them into a bag in the top of Princess’s closet. In a few months when they are bored and getting on my nerves~~Viola Tinkertoys! Something new and interesting to hold their interest.
And when you do pull out the new and interesting thing, take one of the things that has grown old and boring, such as the awesome Magnetix that my kids are playing with endlessly right now, and put those up on the top of the closet. Then when the Tinkertoys have become boring you pull out the Magnetix again. . . .
You get the idea. . . .
Does this only work with small children?

I’m doing this with my 8 and 10 year old. They get overloaded on gifts from the grandparents. I took everything that wasn’t opened as of last night (Littlest Pet shop, Legos, K’Nex, art set, beading kit, computer games, and more) and put them away.
No, it works with mommies and daddies too. We got so many boxes of chocolates and tins of cookies we are good until 2010. I’ve put them away unopened and when we get unexpected company or I need a quick all-purpose gift I’ll break ‘em out.
