My tip is to start routine a week or two weeks before to get back on track.

I’ve learned to wait until the are on school and get a list directly from each teacher. I can’t tell you how much was wasted getting the list from the school and a lot of it was never used.

My tip is to get the basics, like pencils & paper when it’s on sale, but wait for other items until you get the list from your child’s teacher!

Well we homeschool, but I love the August back to school sales to stock up on everything we need. Also researching curriculum is a big part for me!

buy in bulk. you can get 1700 pencils for 7 cents each. then use them every year. Buying once saves time as well.

Invest in a more durable backpack and lunch bag that will last several years instead of the cheaper ones that only last a year or less. The initial cost is a little more but it saves money in the long run. Shop the back to school sales and it is possible to find so really great deals.

Get a system going for prepping as much for school lunches ahead of time as you can. It’s so nice in the morning to just be able to toss some pre-portioned packages into a lunch bag and only have to worry about making the sandwich.

If there’s a tax-free week for certain items where you live, save a little by timing your purchases accordingly.

Compare school supply prices against price point sheets to make sure you’re getting a good deal. Take advantage of price matching as well.
