Frugal Living in Action (FLIA) … Today for some frugal fun the kids and I rode our bikes down to the town park.
Sure-it’s not a theme park or an expensive resort-but the wind in your hair is fun all the same!
If we wanted to make a morning of it we would have brought a lunch, but instead we’ll swing by the river to throw in some stones, finish riding through town then finish at home for a Popsicle.
What are some of your frugal summer day plans?

Family Run Club! My son is participating in a charity kids triathlon in August so we are training!
We are set up as a family team at the Medtronic TCMarathon Kids Running site and they have a very easy, very fun training program with games, etc. to get kids running. Today a friend joined us and we had a lot of fun. Later today, we are biking to a farmers market.

Well I am moving to Arizona from Maryland, so the trip across country will be slow and full of sight seeing. Each stop is well planned to either visit family members, or at different nature walks and parks. Our plan involves about ten days worth of driving, no rushing:) This is July’s plan. August involves visiting family in Southern California, including trips to Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm and other Sounthern California attractions. Our frugal plan to accomplish this whirl wind summer, is to utilize as many picnic tables as possible cooking our own food (avoiding most restraunts!, stay with family on overnights when we can,and purchasing amusement park tickets through the military (brother-in-law). Jenn gave excellent tips in a previous post about souveniers and such when visiting Disney. If anyone has some good suggestions I would love to here them to keep our spending at a low!
Happy Summer All!

Yesterday I packed a picnic and took the kids to the beach. My goal for the summer, now that I’m done with my major project is to go at least weekly. My unspoken goal is to not cave and hit the drive through on the way home just because it’s easier.

We have a free public dog park that has agility equipment. I take my dog there than paying fees to take classes. He doesn’t mind that some of the equipment isn’t regulation because we do agility for fun not competition.
