It’s time again to “Flashback” with Frugal Upstate!
So what have we talked about during the last week of February in the past?
Last year in 2010 I was pondering what to do when you buy two liters of soda for a party and wind up with extra. 13 Recipes to Use Up Leftover Soda was the result. Lots of great links to things like Cola Wings and Mt Dew Apple Dumplings!
In 2009 I was wishfully thinking ahead to spring and spring break. I had 7 Ideas for a Great Spring Break on a Budget. Also included in the post is a link to the podcast on the same topic that Lynnae and I did for Frugal Coast2Coast-which you can still listen to and enjoy (it’s also available on iTunes)
In 2008 the plastic baggie tangle had become too much for me-but I discovered a new way to store & organize my washed zippered baggies. Yes. I wash and reuse zippered baggies.
In 2007 I was thinking about frugal skills, like sewing, and linked to a great video on “How to Sew on a Button“-a skill that anyone can learn. Doing your own basic mending can not only save you a ton compared to paying a tailor or seamstress-it also can rescue clothing destined for the rag pile.
And finally, in 2006 I was pondering CSA’s (Community Share Agriculture) and trying to decide if they were frugal or not.
Note: What do you think of these flashbacks? Would a picture above each section be more appealing?

As I spend most days writing reviews, articles and news about movies, tv, books and more, I’m always looking for ways to save time and resources. I love the idea of washing used zipper locked baggies and then storing them in the box they originally came in. Thanks for a great idea!
