Welcome April!

“April Showers Bring May Flowers”

April is a fantastic month!

Not only was your favorite blogger born in April (yay me!) but April is also Earth Month and Financial Literacy Month!

For Earth Month you will be seeing several articles on ways to be frugal and green, as well as quick tips for recycling/reusing and even a giveaway or two!

Financial Literacy Month is of course a cause that is dear to my heart. According to Wikipedia:

National Financial Literacy Month is recognized in the United States in April in an effort to highlight the importance of financial literacy and teach Americans how to establish and maintain healthy financial habits.

You know how strongly I feel that people need to take control and responsibility for their finances. Learn to distinguish wants from needs and then prioritize those. . . so I am all about financial literacy and healthy financial habits.

My good friends* over at Money Management International (the largest nonprofit, full-service credit counseling agency in the United States) are doing a fantastic “30 Steps to Financial Wellness“. They are also featuring 30 different PF bloggers-one a day-on their blog. Stop by each day this month for fantastic articles- I’m up to bat on April 13th.

If you’d like to support Financial Literacy Month, you can shoot on over to Blogging for Change and get your very own I love Financial Literacy Month badge!
