Here we go over at Millionster. (and Juan, I never would skin you-we are nice bloggers over here on the “frugal side” who mostly believe in the old “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all” adage)
There are 33 entries this week (why do I have an overwhelming urge to call them “contestants?”) including my own on “Making Banana Pancakes“.
Scrolling through, the following caught my eye:
Free Gasoline for Putting Advertising on Your Car at “My Two Dollars” caught my eye immediately when I was scrolling through the posts. Ah, the idea of getting something for nothing. Apparently you need to drive a minimum of 1000 miles a month and agree not to take the advertisements off at all. I think the only car at our house that would qualify would be Yankee Bill’s work car-and he’s rather picky about appearances. . . .so I have a feeling we won’t be making any extra cash that way!
The Digerati life has an interesting post about overspending for the sentiment of Mother’s Day (or any holiday for that matter). Personally I like some mushy sentiment-Go for the Hallmark card and the bouquet of flowers for me please! But the Dollar Store card with a heartfelt note, or even a sheet of plain paper with an honest to goodness real love letter written on it would really thrill me just as much. Personally I try to avoid holiday inflation. To me Halloween is about trick o’ treating, not goody bags and presents, Valentines Day is for LOVERS-so I shouldn’t be buying gifts and cards for my children and other miscellaneous family members/friends, and Sweetest Day is just an excuse to try to nab us for Valentines Day a second time. . . .
Frugal Babe talks about some ways to have healthy and organic food on a budget. Check her out.
Free Money Finance has an excellent article on 18 Ways to Save Money on a Small Income. Although this isn’t my personal situation, I thought there was some excellent advice in here. Also it appears to be part III in a series, so you may want to click back through for some more reading.
As always, these are just a few articles that caught my eye. Head on over to Millionster to check out the full festival!
