This weeks Festival is over at a regular read of mine-Frugal Babe! She’s got a nice new template for her blog this week, very simple and clean.
There were 46 entries this week, including quite a few new posters, such as We Go to Cool Places (a post on “couchsurfing“), Campus Grotto (finding scholarships), SEO Aware (Money Saving Tips for Self Employed/Small Businesses), I’ve Paid for This Twice Already (Reorganizing Pantry), and a few others.
Here are a few of my favorite posts for this week:
“15 Ways that Being Uncool Can Save You Money“–Sort of an anti “Keeping up with the Jones’s” mentality. While I disagree with a couple of the points (I can pay attention to fashion, just not be a slave to it, and buy my stuff at the thrift store still!) the philosophy is good.
“Frugal Friday-Do It At Home“–Opinion Mom reminds us that sometimes staying at home is the best way to save money. I know that personally I have a hard time going out anywhere and not spending money. And that is with my being CONSCIOUS of what I’m spending on. . ..
What does SLRY mean? According to Living Behind the Curve, it’s Slowcooking Really Simplifies Life, Yo! Read some tips and tricks to make it super easy, and don’t forget that an extra benefit to your slowcooker is that you can plug it in somewhere like the garage and save on your AC bill (or just help keep an un-AC’d house cool).
Those are just a couple that caught my eye this week-head on over and read the rest! Next weeks Festival is over at Frugal for Life.

Thanks for the mention! 🙂
Thanks for the information!! What about Big Lots has anyone explored that store and do you think it is good?? I do from what I have found there. Annette
Thanks for the links. I commented on the ‘uncool’ blog. I agree with you…just because you pay attention to fashion doesn’t mean you are a slave to it. People really do judge books by their covers, and a sloppy or outdated outfit says, “I don’t care.” We can look great without spending too much money.
And the Slowcooking blog has inspired me to make more of an effort to use my crockpot every week!
PaidTwice-Not a problem!
Annette-I occasionally go to Big Lots, they do have some great stuff
M2F-Glad you liked that article. I totally agree with the “book by it’s cover” comment. A person can argue all they want that it isn’t fair, but the fact of the matter is that is the way life is.
I need to start using the crockpot some more-I used it a lot during our really bad hot streak, but since it has gotten a tad cooler I haven’t used it as much.
