Well, I was going to write about rice bags this morning, because I woke up with a stiff neck (I’ve got a cold!), but the kiddos followed me downstairs and of course as soon as I got on the computer they needed my undivided attention. (How dare mama pay attention to something other than us!)
So I did what I often do in this situation. I pulled the little guy (2 1/2) up on my lap and asked him if he’d like a picture of “insert cartoon character here” to color. This morning it was Bob the Builder. I just went to google.com and punched in “bob the builder coloring pages” and voila, up popped tons of sites with free printable coloring book pages. You can do this with any character/item you kids like. Barbie, Dinosaurs, Race Cars, Princesses – all for free!
There are also a lot of free paper doll sites (which will keep them busy coloring and cutting if they are old enough) One of my favorite paper doll sites is the Making Friends Paper Dolls They have the androgynous bodies separate from the hair and clothes (and in several eye shapes and body colors as well as the outline coloring in type) and they have the clothes for various holidays, professions etc, as well as paperdolls of kids in wheelchairs. The Making Friends homepage also has a lot of neat craft projects, as well as ones that are specific for scouting. (Someday in the next few years I have a feeling that link will become inportant!)
