Free Fonts

Well I had tons of things I wanted to do this afternoon, both personal and in the blogosphere.
So of course I spent the last hour browsing free fonts at 1001 Free Fonts. Sigh. Things like that just suck me in.
I downloaded about 30 new fonts (well, ok, it turns out it was 130). You may be asking yourself “What does Jenn need all those new fonts for?”.
Well, in some ways that’s like asking what you need new shoes for. You just DO!
No, really. I make posters for activities at various charities and organizations I work with (Church, nursery school, theatre-the list goes on). I like to make my own thank you and greeting cards and stationary. I even do a very occasional scrapbook page-typing and printing out the captions rather than count on my handwriting.
Now, isn’t that cool?
Oh, and if you look in the FAQ section it does tell you where exactly in your computer files you have to put the fonts once you unzip them.

Fonting – what a fun little hobby! In my work (www.theassetedge.net), I’m often creating handouts and writing newsletters. Do you have a favorite font to recommend?

Thanks, these are really cool!
Those are neato!! Have a nice weekend!! Annette
What an awesome tip! Thanks! (Just downloaded a bunch, myself.)
Mommysecrets-I really like the Charming font (third down on the right). I also like one called “Chiller” which I downloaded somewhere else. I looked at your job site, and it looks like you work with kids/teens. There are a lot of neat fonts that might pertain in the “graffiti” section, and the “famous” section has fonts that look like ones used by big brand names. Those might appeal too.
Katie & Annette-glad you enjoyed them!
Mrs. W-Just a bit too much fun aren’t they? I could spend hours just looking at them. I was thinking that I could use some of them to do cool labels for some of my home canned stuff next year-especially some of the nice “handwriting” or “Calligraphy” type fonts. And there are some cool ones I could see using at Halloween. . .
Thanks, I’ve linked.
Jenn,
Thanks for the tip. Just yesterday I was trying to download a font and had no idea what I was doing. Will check the FAQ’s.
