How is this for cool and free?
You can go to this site-My Pictr-upload any photo, crop it to the correct size you need it for your online profile by selecting what type of site you are using, download automatically, and it even gets erased off the site in 1o minutes (according to their FAQ).

Cool, free, and even online (so you don’t have to clog up your computer with yet another program). Just another little tip to help you with “Improve your Blog Month”.

Oh darn, I have to actually host the photo somewhere to get it into my profile. Well, I did make a Flickr acct a while back. Guess I’ll have to stick it over there so that I can put it in the profile. . . .
I’ll do it later, enough time spent sitting in front of the computer this morning. I’ve got to be at the Dr. by 11. . .
cute picture (That is like the biggest turtleneck I’ve ever seen!) it would be even better if we could see your WHOLE face.
Yeah, says she who only shows her nose and chin in her own profile shot!
That is so awesome! Thanks for sharing that!
Cute photo
One of my favorite yearbook photos looked just like that, except with hair spiked up and surprised eyes. I love it!
That is so cute! You look just like I thought you would.
This might be useful. I don’t know that I have a “profile” spot, I just have an “about” page. But I can upload pictures into my hosting program.
I am just short of overwhelmed, but this “contest” has been helpful.
Glad everyone likes it… I have another one that I had taken at Wally world, 3/4 length that I need to scan in as well to see which I like better
Rebecca-Yeah, doing this whole thing has forced me to finally do a bunch of things I’ve been meaning to figure out. And at least now all the links are in one place and you can always come back and find them later. . . .
Of course, if you have a Mac, you can crop in the built-in program.
Personally, I think a Mac is a thrifty choice. The platform is more stable, you get automatic updates, and it comes with top-notch software (everything except Microsoft Office, which you can buy for $100 student edition). yes, it costs more than the bottom-line Dell or Gateway, but you’ll keep it for longer because it will work well for years. Plus you cut down on toxic waste stream taht way.
