GIVEAWAY CLOSED

I can’t believe the Superbowl is almost here!

Well, ok, I can’t believe that basketball and football seasons are running simultaneously, with the NASCAR season set to start right on top of that. . .but that’s another issue.

To say I’m not a big football fan would be something of an understatement.  I don’t watch it at all.  If there is a game on and Yankee Bill happens to be watching it, you are more likely to find me curled up next to him on the couch reading a novel (or-let’s be honest-tweeting on my laptop) than screaming along with the game.

But I love an excuse for a party, and what better reason could you have to get your friends together in the middle of the cold, gray, wintry weather here in Upstate New York than a Superbowl Party? Heck, you can talk through the game if you like and just watch the commercials~they are the best part anyway ;)

Having a party can be expensive though-how can you have a great game day on a budget?  Well Walmart is currently running a promotion where they ensure that moms can still provide great snacks for the ultimate SuperBowl XLIV party for $44 or less.

So what can you get for that $44?

-One package of Oscar Mayer Meat Hot Dogs (8 ct.)
-One package of Johnsonville® Bratwursts (6 ct.)
-Two packages of Great Value™ Hot Dog Buns
-Two bags of T.G.I. Friday’s™ Frozen Appetizers
-One Hormel™ Supreme Party Tray
-12” Chocolate Chunk Cookie
-Two boxes of Nabisco Wheat Thins or Triscuit Crackers (8 to 10 oz. box)

Not too shabby!  (sorry-the beer & drinks you are on your own for)

And to help one of my readers out there have a fantastic game day, I’m giving away a $50 Walmart gift card to one lucky winner so they can host their own fabulous Game Time Party!

This giveaway will run from today-January 29th 2010 through 12 PM EST February 2nd 2010

We make a dip with 1 lb ground beef, 1 can of cheddar cheese soup, and one jar of picante sauce or salsa and enjoy with tortilla chips. It’s the Bouf family recipe!

Hi Jenn! Our traditional favorite has been hummus and pita wedges, although I was realizing today that we have to keep hummus away from my allergic to everything 3-year-old who is likely to react to the sesame in it. I’m thinking that this year, we may go with guacamole and tortilla chips instead, or I may try to make a tahini-less chickpea dip. Thanks for the giveaway!
