I have an Idea!

I know, I know, did I hurt myself or anything 
I was thinking that I would declare April to be “Amateur Improve Your Blog Month”.
My theory was to set goals for each week, something like week one: change your template, week two: declutter and organize your sidebar etc etc etc.
Folks could take screenshots of their blogs before they started work, post an update for each week’s project (although not everyone might participate in each week-maybe you are happy with your template or maybe your sidebars are already perfect) and then at the end of the month (or maybe at the beginning and at the end) I’d set up a Mr. Linky and anyone who had participated could do a “Before and After” post.
Finally we could ask the Blogosphere to vote! There could definitely be a “Most Improved” but if there were enough folks interested in participating we could do more categories. I’ve been thinking about all sorts of ways I want to improve my blog and even got some feedback in my contest but have only implemented a small portion of it. I know this would definitely provide impetus for me to get the ball rolling. By waiting to start it in April (but deciding now) it would give folks time to think about what they want to do.

Well, I think brand new blogs would count too. You start out with a basic template and go from there
Just remember, content is king-all the snazzyness in the world won’t help if you don’t have anything to say.
Well, I JUST remodeled my blog, so do I still qualify to join the activity? I posted my experience at http://newyorktraveler.blogspot.com/2007/03/spring-cleaning.html in case you’d like to get some tips.
It was a lot of work, but well worth the effort, I think. Especially when some folks are charging $50 to $500 to rebuild a blog for you! I figured I could at least try to do it myself. Check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks.

Well, maybe I should run two categories-most improved and best new blog. Hmm. I’ll start it the first of April

I need some de cluttering and to reign my blog in I am all over the place so this sounds like a grand idea!!
