Laptop Problems

by Jenn @ Frugal Upstate on January 18, 2008

I am having some laptop issues-the screen keeps going blank. I’m going to have to send it in to the shop (for approx 2 weeks) and write on our slower than slow desktop. Sigh. So the posting will be a bit more erratic for the next couple of weeks, probably approx 3X a week.

Just wanted to let you know what was going on.

You may want to get a good deal on a Dell. You could also re-run your original program soft-ware to make it work better and delete too many old un-needed files.

Mrs. M-Nope, I got a brand off the internet called M-Tech. It was really cheap, like $750, but this is the second time I’ve had to send it back. The service guy told me that they stopped carrying this model because of the problems – now they don’t carry anything that inexpensive- but that they will continue to stand by it and fix whatever needs to be fixed. Sigh.

Anon-It’s only 6 months old, so there really isn’t a lot of garbage clogging it up yet. The problem is the screen keeps cutting out on me-something to do with the power in the thing. Oh well.

Oh, a M-Tech. Not to kick someone when he/she is down, but you got a terrible price for a laptop. $750 for a B-brand is awful. I have seen higher end HPs and Toshibas for that much and less. Sorry. :( I’ve learned from experience that “discounted” electronics are rarely frugal purchases.
