My Last Word on Aprons.

At least for a while.

I told you the two main reasons aprons were frugal. And in my first post I told you that I was going to buy an apron instead of making one, and mentioned at the very end that:

Of course, auxiliary to this entire discussion could be another post about how wearing an apron can be seen as a uniform of sorts, and how that effects how you feel about what you are doing during the day (ie cooking and cleaning). Hmmmm. Any thoughts on that as well????

Well, Miss Maggie over at Hillbilly Housewife has written a very interesting if a tad tongue in cheek article on this very topic. I think you might want to head on over and give it a read, then come back and tell me what you think.

Gotta love Maggie! That was funny, and not entirely untrue! Though I am not putting nice clothes on to cleam my house, apron or no apron!

    Stephanie-yes, she is funny!

Of course that whole article could bring up quite a converstion comparing the traditional 1950’s type Donna Reed woman, vs the feminist type, vs the non feminist yet modern woman. . . . but I figured #1, I had promised to stop talking about aprons (at least for a while) and #2-I have tried to keep things from getting political on here, and that is a conversation that could easily turn from philosophical to political to just plain old ugly if folks really got into it ;)
