New Personal Finance Wiki-The Finwikian!

by Jenn @ Frugal Upstate on March 6, 2008

Mrs. Micah has created a new wiki called the Finwikian! She did an incredible amount of work in compiling a huge list of PF bloggers (I was thrilled to be included-some PF folks don’t really consider frugality blogs to be part of their “area”) and completely filling out an about page for each of them. Wow.

For those of you wondering a wiki is a group collaborative website-sort of like an open editiable encyclopedia. The biggest and most well know of course is Wikipedia one of my favorite research resources. Of course some folks don’t like them, because when anyone can edit it you don’t have editorial control and fact checking. But I’ve found it to be pretty durn reliable.

Mrs. Micah is looking for folks to start filling in the Finwikian with articles related to personal finance. It is also set up so other PF bloggers and related fields can add in a bio page. Go on over and check it out.

Thanks, Jenn. I totally think that frugality blogs and even SAHM ones that deal with shopping and such are part of the personal finance world. They cover an important aspect of personal financial responsibility. :)

Personal Finance is really great idea, I have always been bad at my finances and I am sure I will find many friends with the same problem.

It would really nice to share ideas and ways to manage the finances.

I have always been looking ways to get some money to cover up my laggings.
Many a times land up doing garage sales, selling stuff which I do not use or even at times which I do use just to get some money.

But I should say I have been improving on my Garage Sale techniques, thanks to http://www.garage-sale-riches.com
Their guide was really useful, I could get the right price and also manage to sell most of the stuff I put for sale.
