Well the short answer is-I’m not telling.
There are no two things in the world that cause as much difference of opionion, emotion and plain old decisiveness as Religion and Politics. Although I have deeply held beliefs in both areas, I really do try to keep them, for the most part, out of this blog.
I really want this blog to be a useful resource for folks who are looking to learn/maintain frugality. I do this by discussing things that each individual or family can implement. Although politics can play a big role in the larger realm of finance, and thus effect frugality-it really isn’t down to the individual/family level. So therefore my political feelings are fairly irrelevant to the topic.
My concern is that a discussion on politics could cause some folks to feel uncomfortable here. For this same reason I do not delving very far into religion-I think you’ve all realized that I am a Christian of the Episcopal variety, but I don’t go too much into details of personal belief.
So thanks for asking Annette, but you are just going to have to wonder

Voting is a very sacred right – for the American’s here – and other free people abroad – be proud of this right and don’t exercise it lightly.
We are the envy of many hoards of people around the globe – who will never know or experience the ability to be part of their governmental process.
I think it’s great that this election season has garnered so much interest and excitement. People are stepping into voting booths and making their voices heard.
Take time to do the research and make sure you put REAL thought into your choices – don’t pull the lever for someone just because they look like you or because they simply make you feel good when they speak. Make your choice count for the things you hold dear.
Elections have consequences – Presidential elections have effects that last for DECADES (not just 1 or 2 terms). The biggest effect a President has is in our Supreme Court and Federal Circuit courts where judges can be appointed for LIFE! I urge everyone to think about who your choice for President would appoint to the Federal benches and Supreme Court – these people make the lasting impacts on our society, perhaps well after the appointing President is out of office (and even dead & buried).
Embrace your rights and use them wisely.

When we were stationed overseas, my husband’s commander would have dinner parties for everyone, and mixed officers and enlisted families in groups at his home. His rules were: (a) no politics and (b) no religion. Anything else was fare game.
I think that’s a good rule.
I think She Voted For Hillary to move women up in the world possibly???
Religion, politics and frugality go hand in hand with conservatives, Democrats and ect.. It is about how to spend the money and what we do with it. One should not be ashamed of having a voice but, should be proud to stand up for what they believe in.
Good for you! Voting is crucial, but there’s a reason for the curtain in the voting booth.
Love, love, love the blog, by the way
Glad to hear that you voted! Of course, since I’m related to you, I have a pretty good idea who you voted for (same goes for YB). But as much as I love to argue politics, you’re right, there are 100s of other blogs out there to do that on.
Ted
Thank you! I get so tired of reading blogs and then the blogger decides to go on a politics rant when his blog has nothing to do with it. I would much rather not know anything about your politics.
I am with you, sister. Save the politics for someone else and stick with the frugality
Well the politicians decide how much money you have or don’t have so, it has everything to do with your future. Do you want good jobs or a life of Slavery?? Your vote counts. Jill Religion and politics never mix but, your well being does!!!
Having read this blog, I think that I may have an inkling who you DIDN’T vote for! However, I agree with the previous poster that voting is sacred. It’s such a lead balloon that so many people take the opportunity for granted and just blow it off. Voting is the only insurance that we have that we can keep our way of life… and sometimes even that isn’t a guarantee! Thanks for posting about this important topic.

Jerry, ya I agree. If more people voted to improve thier quality of life the country would be better off. It is nothing to be ashamed of. It is something to be proud of!!!
Thanks for all the support guys! Isn’t is amazing how this garnered so many comments
Imagine how het up everyone might have gotten if I had actually told
Sort of confirms my decision eh?
People look up to you for advice and they want to know your opinion to help guide them in a stressful world. It means a lot to people to know things some people keep private due to this. An example is many religous people voted for Bush and thought he would be good with the money. Billions of dollars have been spent on the war. Some say this was not exercising frugality and creating more problems. Controversy is no fun yes but, helping people who need it is good.
The anonymous comment above only reinforces my Frugal-Wifey’s decision to keep polictics out of her blog. As her Brother stated a few posts back – there are plenty of places to do that out here in the blog-o-sphere.
You drop $.02 worth of comment with $50 worth of inflammation attached to it – please find another outlet for this sort of “pot-stirring” and respect Jenn’s request to keep the discourse frugal in nature, with respect to the home and family.
Everyone knows that wars are never a frugal endeavor – a war fought frugally would be lost every time. Whether the conflict we are in – is or isn’t necessary will be borne out with the passage of time, just as all historical events are.
As I said at the top – voting is sacred and serious – do your own research and make your OWN voice be heard – don’t be a sheep or a lemming and vote one way or another, just because one person or group says so.
Now, please honor Jenn’s request for privacy in this matter.
