The Festival Roundup-A Little Late :)

by Jenn @ Frugal Upstate on April 18, 2007

Well, sorry, spending time with my kiddos and mom at the Riverhead Aquarium beat out writing the Festival Roundup yesterday. I know, I know. Where are my priorities?

So here we are a day late and a dollar short! (Well, maybe not a dollar short, at least I thoughtfully provided you all with a link so that you could shoot on over and read the Festival at your leisure).

This week there were 31 articles, including my own “Best of” post on Ground Beef Batch Cooking. Here are a few of the ones that caught my eye:

Not Made of Money has an article on how to get your pantry under control. Lets face it, you can’t used that well stocked pantry if you don’t know what is in there or can’t find it. And the comment about 5 bottles of unopened oregano, lets just say that similar things have been known to happen in the Frugal Upstate household. . . .

Lazy Man and Money writes about giving wine as an inexpensive gift. You may not be able to replicate his specific lucky circumstances, but keeping your eyes out for a good deal that can be used in the future as gifts for friends or family is always a good idea!

Money for the Rest of Us has 5 online shopping comparison tools. If you are planning on buying a large purchase online (or want to know if you can buy it cheaper online or at a brick and mortar store) check these places out. I have used MySimon in the past (that is distant past) to check out the prices on a few things. It is nice to aggregate the prices on a very specific item (ie you know the exact brand or type)

Don’t forget to mosey on over and check out the other wonderful offerings. There is plenty of great reading to keep you occupied while you drink your morning cup of joe!
