Meredith-I agree with you-sometimes measuring against others can be discouraging-and I know you've said before that you have a pretty good competitive streak :) As you can see with the difference in ranking between the two lists it can be rather subjective in many ways. . . but I like to keep tabs :) It also helps me to look at the other blogs who rank higher and see if maybe they are doing something that I could be doing to improve my blog as well. Some of it you just can't help-some of the coupon blogs get massive traffic because folks pop by regularly for the deals, and yet they might not have a very big sense of community. I on the other hand have a good moderate traffic, but I really feel that I've gotten to know many of my readers and that we support and appreciate each other. KWIM?

FIRE-No problem! I might not remember to post every month, but I really do appreciate the work you put in. Even with scripts and spreadsheets to do some of the figuring, it still has to be a huge undertaking. Kudos.

Great job! I admire all your hard work.

I unplugged most of my stats and don't appear on the Wisebread list, and the editors at FIRE decided I was a homemaking blog instead of a frugality blog : )

On a personal level I am finding it much easier to go about my day without the temptation to measure myself against others.
