Amanda-Actually,it wasn't bad. Granted-Yankee Bill was doing the driving-but still, it was a straight shot till we got in the city, and then we pretty much went north a few blocks and parked in the first garage we came to for $33 for the day and then walked a couple of blocks. And considering the fact that we would have missed the 11pm train after the show and there wasn't another out till 140, well, it was worth it!

M2F-We skipped the museum, we figured it wasn't enought time to do more than glance at a few things. So we had a cup of coffee and some cheesecake at the Starlight Dinner where the waitstaff sings, walked a lot and people watched, had a nice dinner and did the show. It was lovely! I can't wait till Buddy and Princess are a bit older and we can really take them in to see the museums et al-I think they would love those natural history dioramas!

Never again debt-We'll have to try that site next time! Now that we've tried this once, we'll do it again I'm sure. If we can buy the tickets ahead of time and avoid standing in line for an hour that would be a good thing . . .

YB-I had a wonderful time too honey-thank you for a wonderful birthday gift :) I love you too!

Bick-we are looking forward to seeing you whenever you get the time. . . oh, and you can drag along that handsome husband of yours if he can get some time off from flight school.

Driving to the city was no biggie at all - and turned out to be a good choice....no trains back out from 11:30 PM - 1 AM. We found parking 3 blocks from the theater - out to the car and home (Cici's) by 12...too easy!
We saw Mamma Mia and it was absolutely wonderful, you just can't help but get but caught up in that Abba music - and the storyline was fun too. Highly recommend it to anyone (and I'm not the 'artsy' one in the family) - not a "frugal" day - but what the heck ... my baby is worth it! Glad you had a good birthday sweety - I luvs ya!

YB

In the future, you may want to try my favorite discount broadway ticket web site: www.broadwaybox.com

You can get some tickets as low as $26.50, emailed to you, no waiting in line. I see one broadway show a month, usually a Wednesday afternoon and have never paid more than $50 for anything!

Good luck, from a fellow New Yorker!

Hope you have a wonderful time! I love that museum, but haven't been there in about 8 years.
It would be great if you could get tickets to "Wicked." But any show would be fun to see!
