Veteran’s Day Discounts

by Jenn @ Frugal Upstate on November 7, 2008

Yet again this year Lowes and Home Depots nation wide are offering a 10% discount to Veterans! (this includes active duty as well)

Lowes: 10% off of purchases up to $5000 from Nov 6th-11th (includes special orders)

Home Depot: 10% off of purchases up to $2000 from Nov 6th-12th

You may be required to prove military service, either with a retiree card or a DD214 (use a copy PLEASE-you don’t want to ever lose that original)

As a veteran myself, I always appreciate when companies recognize those who have served as well as those who are currently serving.

By the way, this is an annual event, so if you are a veteran and you are looking to do any large home improvement projects or appliance purchases, try to time it around Veterans Day.

Applebees is also giving us veterans a free meal on veterans day this year. Just show your ID and they will reduce the price of your meal from your bill. Everyone should always call their local restaurant to make sure they are participating.

Thank you to your, your husband and all your readers and all those that serve in the military past and present defending our individual right to be either frugal or a spendthrift. God bless America and the diversity that makes us great.
