More slushy, icky weather that caused the local school districts to close down at eleven today. Just what I needed after the kids had a single day back at school after winter break. Sigh.
We had pegged out the fun meter over break, so I needed to think of something fun to do that would keep the kiddos from killing each other. After they gave me a massage and a hair makeover (I didn’t let them take pictures-I looked like a porcupine)I still had most the afternoon left. needed to make bread anyway, so I figured the kiddos and I could have some fun. Once the bread machine worked it’s wonders and gave me a nice batch of dough, I split Princess and Buddy each off a blob, and made the rest into a loaf.

Buddy made the small loaf pan and the pancake looking object in front of it. Princess made the rest of the interesting shapes.
Most of the tiny details disappeared during baking-but that was ok. They were thrilled to eat “their” bread, even if it didn’t look quite the way they had planned.
A craft and a snack all in one-what more could you want?
