Return of the Lunchbox Report

by Jenn @ Frugal Upstate on September 3, 2008

With today being the first day of school for Princess (Buddy starts tomorrow-Kindergarten has an orientation day today) I have reinstituted the Lunchbox Report.

The lunchbox report is a daily detailing of what is packed inside Princess & Buddy’s lunchboxes. Since I realize that this is not an enthralling topic for everyone, I made the decision a year or so ago not to publish it as an individual post. Instead it is located in the left sidebar-that way you don’t have to pay any attention to it unless you want to.

So why do I even bother publishing the lunchbox report? There are two main reasons.

1) I think that seeing what I pack might give some other folks ideas about what sort of things to pack in a child’s lunch.

2) It forces me to be creative and stay out of the “lunchbox rut”. Let’s face it, having to list for 3 weeks straight that you sent your kids in with the same PB&J gets sort of embarrassing. Let’s hear it for blogging accountability!

As always, under the report are the links to “Packing a Lunch for Princess” and “A Note on Portion Sizes”. And remember, just last week I talked about Lunchbox Planning for School and Keeping Lunches Hot.

I’m SOOOOO glad you’ll be doing this. My daughter is the ultimate picky eater when it comes to lunches at school. I NEED ideas!
