Menu Plan

Well, today is Pizza day at princess’ school, so no lunchbox report.

Yesterday my dinner plan completely fell through. I wound up going with the kids to Kmart with a girlfriend (this is one I didn’t even know existed that is 10 minutes closer than either Wally World-but in a totally different direction). By the time we got home I was only 20 min away from when I promised to meet my priest’s wife to go through the Christmas Pageant costumes (uh, guess who is costume mistress this year. . . . ) So I pulled out a frozen box of Salisbury Steaks from Aldi’s that I had purchased for DH to use while I was in Texas (and he didn’t), nuked that, reconstituted some mashed potatoes, opened a can of green beans, and had dinner ready for them to go in about 15 min.

Today I have a quarterly theatre board meeting from 4-6ish (probably a bit later) so DH asked if he could take the kiddos out to the pizza place here in town for dinner. Although I could undoubtedly make something for less and leave it for them to eat, they love going out with their Papa. I figure that it is good bonding/making memory times for them and gives them more practice at behaving themselves in public. (I happen to think they are pretty well behaved in public most of the time, but at 3 and 5 these things should be reinforced). Anyway, of all the kinds of places he could take them, the local pizza/Italian joint is very very reasonable price wise!

But tomorrow, really, I will cook. Probably that same tetrazzini recipe I mentioned yesterday.
