Baking Bacon — The way to make picture perfect bacon!

February 6, 2015 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate 3 Comments

I have learned one of the mysteries of the universe–how to make perfect, flat, mess free bacon!   Yes, it’s true, it can be done.  Not only can it be done, but it’s super easy!

You simply have to BAKE your bacon.

Baking Bacon

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and line the pan of your choice with foil (for easy clean up–or if you don’t care just go without).  Lay your bacon on the pan.  They can be really close, almost touching, but it’s best not to overlap them.

Put them in the 400 degree oven and bake for 10 minutes.  It won’t splatter or mess up your oven, I promise you!  After 10 minutes, take the pan out, drain off the bacon grease if you like (I always save mine into a jar that I keep in the fridge so I can cook with it later), flip the bacon and put it back in for another 10 minutes.

That’s it!  You are done!  Drain them on some brown paper or such if you like.

One of my favorite tricks! So much less messy than doing it on the stovetop, too.
