Holiday Recipes! Frugal Holiday Series

Welcome to the Frugal Christmas Series! Let’s all spread some holiday cheer by sharing our great money saving ideas!

Previously we talked about Frugal Gifts, Crafts and Decorations, and our Holiday Traditions. Those topics are still open for discussion. Really, click through and add the links to your posts! But now we are moving on to FOOD!

I come from a family where food = love. Of course that is not the ONLY thing that equals love, but we definately have a tendancy to show we care by preparing a special meal or treat. Blame it on the Italian Grandmother gene. You know, of the “Oh, sweetie-what are they feeding you there? You look to thin. Here let me whip you up a lasagna & some cannolis.” variety.

So when it comes to Christmas (or the winter holiday of your choice) we love our food. Cookies. Candies. Special Meals. Food for Gifts. Food for Parties. . . . the list is endless.

And I’m sure it’s much the same with you! I love learning about other folks traditions and foods-that’s how our family adopted the German tradition of Potato Pancakes (served at outdoor fests for Christmas) as part of our tree decorating tradition. Please take a few minutes this week to post some of your families favorite recipes for the holiday season (go ahead, take us through the New Years Parties as well folks) and then stop by here and put them in the Mr. Linky.

You can spread the joy by grabbing the Frugal Holiday Series badge from my sidebar and posting it on your blog so others can stop by as well.

And if you don’t have a blog, just use my handy dandy contact form to send me your recipe and description and I’ll give you your very own blog post!

Thanks for the opportunity to show off our Sweets for the Season series. Last year we did Cookie a Day between Thanksgiving and Christmas, but this year we are expanding into candy and other desserts.

I love your blog and want you to check out mine: entertainingescapades.blogspot.com!

I will be sharing lots of great recipes this holiday that are quick, easy, and delicious. My favorite so far, and the one that has been extremely popular with friends and family is my Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe! It’s great for holiday parties and would make a great Christmas or New Year’s Eve appetizer. I make it with Swanson Chicken, blue cheese crumbles, and blue cheese dressing so it tastes like authentic chicken wings with blue cheese sauce! YUM!
