Homemade Cobb Salad

Ingredients

  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Iceberg Lettuce
  • Avocado
  • Chicken
  • Bacon
  • Eggs
  • Tomato
  • Blue Cheese
  • Balsamic Vinaigrette

Instructions

Prepare your ingredients:

  1. Hard boil your eggs, fry your bacon and cook your chicken.
  2. Chop your Romaine, Iceberg, tomatoes, chicken, eggs and bacon.

Assemble:

  1. Toss both kinds of lettuce together and layer on a platter.
  2. On top of the lettuce neatly lay stripes of each ingredient.
  3. For the most pleasing effect start in the middle (I used my hard boiled egg) and then work out evenly to the sides mirroring ingredients.
  4. Serve with a vinaigrette dressing.

Variations:

  1. Salad can be made as attractive individual plates of salad with the same striped effect.
  2. Ingredients can be altered to fit various dietary needs--low fat, sugar free, organic etc.
