I read your blog on: Check Out NEW Rubbermaid Bento! I found it very interesting and I like their take on the storage box.
I have to comment that I have been a loyal customer of Rubbermaid my whole life. When I was in my early 20s I used to sell Rubbermaid in the host parties. I had all their products and hosted a party at least once a month in my home. I loved the canister carosel and the cutting boards and the cabinet door bins to name a few of the items that, sadly, you no longer have available. I had mine all these years until our last move when some of the boxes did not make our destination move 🙁 This is very sad for me because I truely loved showing family and friends the rare Rubbermaid items and how they had last 36 + years ! In fact the only Rubbermaid Item I ever had to replace were the rubber spatulas, over time the rubber wore out. You are my favorite company for items for the home !!

My townhome lacks space for recycling containers ( and storage, but that’s another story! ). I end up hanging bags from random door knobs. This container would fit perfectly in the space I have!

I live in the country and we compost everything possible ! Trash pick-up is not available so I have to wait until my husband has time on the weekend to take the trash all the way to the landfill. I have totes that we use for the recycling as we wash and separate everything. Right now they are lined up on our side porch and it is not very pretty. The 2 in 1 Recycler is not only practicle but very SHARP looking. I could keep this next to my back door as it appears to be very practicle! I would really like to try this out and hope to see it in the stores soon ! Having to take the top completely off would not be an issue for me, in fact, I prefer it as it would make it easier for cleaning the item inside and out. Please consider me to test this item and give my opinion

My mother-in-law (who lives with us) and my kids o not get the sorting thing, because we have only one bin. So on recycling day my DH has to go through and sort. He hates it. This would be perfect!

I subscribe.

My recycle bin is outside, so I typically stack all of the recyclables on the counter until a kid comes racing by – and then I force the kid to take them out for me.
My kids would REALLY appreciate this!

I love the idea of this… as someone who lives with the rest of her family, who do NOT share my views on the importance of recycling, this item might be conducive, easy, and practical enough to get them to start (they won’t take a can 10ft out the back door to put in the recycle can I have out there already because it’s inconvenient; puhleese). What I find bizarre about the situation is that my mother was raised in the 60s (flower power, anyone?), and my twin brothers are a generation (13yrs to be exact) younger, and went to school during a time when recycling was part of their education. Out of the 4 of us, I’m the one who recycles, composts, and re-uses as much as possible. *sigh* So, yes, rubbermaid, if it is as sturdy as your other containers, I would definitely purchase a couple of them (one for glass & plastics, one for trash – on top – and cans on the bottom, and one for misc items that go in our grey waste can for pick-up; so that’s 3? yep, I would buy 3 of them, at least to start… 🙂 ). Also, Jenn, would this be an ok container to use in the kitchen to throw compost scraps into (so you could take them all out at once, when the container is full) or would the smell be an issue? Because that would be a couple more purchased…. 🙂

I’m always recycling! Need to get a new trash/recycle option for my kitachen. In the mean time, I’m useing a small under the sink trash can that uses plastic shopping bags as liners and my reuable shopping bag as a recycle bag next to the refrigerator.
This looks like a sharp option! I really believe that if you make recycling easy to do, more will do it.

It would make recycling easier because it looks like it would actually fit into the very small garage of our soon-to-be-ours house. Our current recycling bin is too large for our new space.
Lanie says
We don’t have any recylcing containers inside presently. This would make recycling more convenient for us!

I separate my recyclables into paper grocery bags and then put them in the bin in the garage when I get around to it. The kids are always knocking over the bags (on the floor in pantry) to get to the snacks. This would take up less space and hopefully would be a little more difficult to knock over. Although there always is the temptation to stand on top of it to get the really good snacks!

I liked “5 things you can purge from your house right now” (http://blog.rubbermaid.com/home/2012/02/5-things-you-can-purge-from-your-home-right-now/). I actually threw out old toiletries and personal products yesterday. Very satisfying,

This will be great for our house because right now we use an ugly plastic sack hanging from our kitchen drawer so it’s a big eye sore and doesn’t really hold a lot of recyclables-this product would!

I really like the idea of starting to recycle some of our plastic bottles. Our dump does not do recyclables but our local Walmart has designated ares for plastic bottles. This way we could make a dedicated effort to recycling those plastic bottles.

It would help me keep more stuff combined — right now, I have a bad tendency to have veggie peelings, banana skins, etc. sit on the shelf on separate plates until I can trudge out to the compost pile. Ew.

I like how streamlined the Rubbermaid recycler looks. Much better than my motley assortment of plastic bins!

I’d love to win this because right now, our recyclables are a cluttered mess on our kitchen counter. It looks awful and I’d really like to reclaim that space. I’d also like an easier way to transport the recyclables from the kitchen to the outside bin.
