Review: Gingerbread Oreos

I just love trying new things. And I love Oreos–so I was right on the offer from Walmart to try out the new limited edition Gingerbread Oreos.

Gingerbread is such a fun seasonal flavor. It’s just one of those things–the leaves change color, the air turns slightly damp, the thermometer starts to drop and suddenly we crave fall flavors like pumpkin, cranberry and, of course, gingerbread.

Every year I make big batches of homemade gingerbread cookies. The taste of the ginger in those is sharp–strong. When I got my package of Gingerbread Oreos I was worried that the flavor would be like that-very sharp, almost gingersnap-ish. I just couldn’t imagine that flavor in an Oreo.

When I bit into the first one..well.. Mmmm. It was gingerbread, but a much more mellow gingerbread than your typical holiday cookie.

It was delicious! The kids, Yankee Bill and I all enjoyed them. Keep your eyes peeled the next time you are in Walmart for these special, limited edition Gingerbread Oreos.
