A week or so ago I told you about some easy and elegant ways to use up Thanksgiving leftovers using Great Value brand crescent rolls, biscuits and pie crust:
I also told you that I’d be having some friends over for a little “show and tell” type baking party. Well I did, and we had a blast!
I showed the gals how to make all three of the dishes. Everyone got to try everything, we ate some of the crescent wreath for lunch, and everyone went home with a box of Pie Bites and Pierogie Biscuits.

It’s funny, whenever I do something like this I realize how much fun I have with my friends and how much we all enjoy learning new things. If I didn’t have to blog about it, I might never have gotten around to hosting a get together like this. The old adage “many hands make light work” is true-and when you bake with friends you are not only sharing the work, you are also cementing and building your friendships and sharing skills.
And I’ll let you in on a little secret. The house wasn’t perfectly clean. There were baskets of unfolded laundry in my husband’s study. We had to move a few piles around on the dining room table to make room to sit down to eat. And although I got the kitchen and dining room swept, I didn’t get the living room vacuumed. You know what? It didn’t matter. We all had a good time anyway. Don’t let the fact that things aren’t “perfect” keep you from enjoying your friends!

Great job, Jenn.

I agree having friends over is amazing. I too wonder why I don’t do it more often. And your comment about a perfectly clean house being unnecessary is spot on. It awakened a plan to have a small Christmas party. Want to come? 🙂

Sure Joycee, if I was free I’d love to come 🙂
