I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Sprint. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.
This year I was selected as a Sprint Ambassador, which means over the course of 10 months I have gotten to play with some really great new phones and accessories! So far I’ve shared the Sprint HTC One M8 Harman/Kardon edition along with a Harman Kardon Onyx Studio Bluetooth speaker, the water resistant Kyocera Hydro Vibe and the sporty Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport. Now I get to share about the Sharp Aquos Crystal.
The Sharp AQUOS Crystal doesn’t look all that unusual when you take it out of the box. Sure, it looks kind of sleek–all silver and black. But it also looks a bit, well, boxy compared to some other phones in the market. I had never heard of the AQUOS–but I knew that each phone I had been sent as a Sprint Ambassador had something really cool or unusual about it–so I turned it on.
Wow!
The screen of the phone goes all the way to the edges! It’s not so obvious when you are in the “homescreen” because you mind sort of fills in a frame around the edges:
It’s when you play a game on it or put it into camera mode that you can really see how amazing the screen is!
The AQUOS features the same technology that Sharp uses in their AQUOS Smart TVs. It features an edgeless, 5″ screen–which looks enormous compared to my current cell phone.
Affordable refinement is yours with the Sharp AQUOS Crystal. The edgeless design shimmers like an infinity pool in your hands. Underneath that chic exterior is the powerful Android™ 4.4 KitKat operating system that supports the ultra-fast 4G LTE Sprint Spark™ network. You can rock your music right with Harman Kardon sound and patented Clari-Fi™ technology for crisper, wider and more dynamic audio.
It’s pretty darn thin too!
Of course it has all the other specs you’d expect on a nice phone:
- Dimensions: 5.16 x 2.6 x 0.40 inches
- Weight: 4.97 ounces
- Display: 5-inch HD frameless LCD display (1,280×720)
- Battery: 2,040mAh Lithium-Ion battery
- Memory: 1.5GB RAM; 8GB ROM; SD card up to 128GB (sold separately)
I have to admit, I haven’t played with this phone anywhere near as much as the previous ones. That’s because Princess has absolutely adored this phone–I’ve had a hard time getting it out of her teenage hands. She loves using it to text her friends, message on KIK, play clash of clans and, oh, yeah, make calls. She’s not going to get to keep it though 🙂 I’m a mean mama.
If you are looking for a high end phone without the high end price tag, check out the Sharp AQUOS crystal for just $149!
