I’m a bulk purchase and Do It Yourself kind of gal–but there are times when a specially formulated product works better than homemade, and when having something individually packaged is useful.
Like with the Tide Pods that Walmart sent me. Tide is hands down one of the best detergents out there. Honestly, I was at a conference once talking with the folks from another major brand and even THEY admitted that Tide does the best job. My homemade detergent works just fine for some things, but if there is something that is really stained, or a grimy white I want to come out really white again, Tide does the trick.
The pods are especially convenient to use when you have folks who can’t (or won’t) measure the detergent out correctly. When you are first training your kids on how to do laundry, they do tend to fill the cap ALL THE WAY UP with liquid detergent if you aren’t right there watching them. You don’t have to worry about that with a pod–just one pod per load! Going camping or heading out on a trip where you’ll need to do some laundry while away? Don’t pack a whole bottle of detergent, just bring a few pods in a zippered baggie (but not through airport security!).
And what about the older adults in our lives? I know both my mom and mother in law hate lugging heavy bottles of detergent into the house or lifting the industrial sized ones up to use with weakening wrists. Actually–my mother in law recently broke her wrist and is having trouble opening ANYTHING with a screw cap. Tide Pods to the rescue–just reach into the bag and pull out an easy, mess free little pod.
The Tide Pods work in regular or HE machines, and each one has a detergent, stain remover, and brightener, and they work in hot or cold water.
Tide Pods capsules:
- Works in standard and HE machines
- Dissolves quickly in hot or cold water
- 1 pod needed per load
- Detergent, stain remover, and brightener combination
- Works for colors or whites
