Valentines Day Party

February 3, 2016 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate Leave a Comment

Valentines may be for lovers, but it can also be an excuse for throwing a party.  Never let a good excuse go to waste, right?!
Valentines Day Party

Walmart sent me in store to check out their Valentine’s Day assortment and put together my very own Valentines Day Party.  There was tons of cute stuff this year:

Valentines Decorating at Walmart

Papergoods of course–heart themed plates, cups, napkins etc. . . but there was also a wide selection of wreaths, floral picks, signs, pillows. . . everything from classic and classy to kitchy and cool!  I decided to keep things simple.

Party Supplies

I went with classic Valentines Colors for my decorations–pink, red and white streamers; red and white glitter bouuet picks; heart themed plates, napkins and cups; and adorable little pink and red “Chinese takeout” style treat boxes.  Of course the frugal way to decorate is to incorporate items you already have.  I pulled out a red tablecloth, the cupcake stand I purchased when I made my hidden Oreo cupcakes a few years back, and the Fluffy Heart Wreath I made.

Reusing items from valentines day past

Putting the party together was easy.  The table was covered with the red table cloth.  I crossed some legnths of streamer over the tablescape to give some contrast.  Next I popped my Strawberry Filled Cupcakes into the cupcake stand.  Instant height and drama!

Cupcakes and Treat Boxes

The treat boxes were stacked for more interest. . . they can either be used to take individual cupcakes home or filled with other candies and treats.

Chocolate Dipped Pretzels

The Party Perfect Candied Pretzels I made in Valentine’s Day themed colors were placed in a tall sundae glass.  I added curling ribbon and the heart bouquet picks to jazz it up even more.  Party Popcorn (recipe coming soon) in a cut glass bowl was decorated with more of the heart bouquet picks.

Party Popcorn

There you have it, a beautiful Valentine’s Day Partyscape.  It was inexpensive and easy to put together. . . but it looks totally fabulous if I do say so myself!
