Yes, that’s right. For the 3rd time this month the kiddos are home due to weather. Yankee Bill also is home for the day due to the weather. Let’s hope that Nor’Easter coming through on Sunday doesn’t cancel school on Monday. . . This is what my car looked like after about 15 minute of… Keep Reading
Thanks to My Readers
I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who has continued to read despite my sporadic posting lately. I know that I haven’t had as many interesting things to say lately. As Meredith pointed out in a comment a few weeks back-sometimes the way to be frugal is NOT to do a… Keep Reading
Gingerbread and Bread
I made the gingerbread cookies with the kiddos Friday-they came out well! I’ll post on that, with pictures, once I get the camera out of the car! However, to keep you busy until then you can read this yummy article over at Homespun Living for No Knead Dutch Oven Bread. . . That’s on my… Keep Reading
No Cookies Yet
Yesterday I got busy and we never made the gingerbread cookies. We’ll try this afternoon in my couple of hour window of opportunity between school and dance lessons 🙂 I will let you all know how they turn out.
An interesting post
Just as I decided to repost some of my previous articles I had written on Christmas Traditions, I run across an article over at 4 Reluctant Entertainers about traditions weighing you down. Very interesting. What do you think?
I’m still alive. . .
But still internet-less until tomorrow (supposedly). Right now I’m sitting on the floor in our old house with my fingers freezing 🙂 The new house is coming along-I’ll post more about it on Tues evening. Lots of frugality related issues (and points about not being so frugal) to talk about!!
We’ve Moved!
More or less 🙂 We’ve got about 2/3 of our stuff at the new place, to include all the bedroom and kitchen stuff. I’ll be ferrying the less important stuff over for the next week or so while the kiddos are in school-lucky for me Yankee Bill has today off as a state employee and… Keep Reading
Getting There. . .
Well, everything except the downstairs half bath is painted in the new house. All but one of the new light fixtures is up, and we’ve got about 1/3 of the house scrubbed clean. The intent is to start moving this weekend-hopefully. We want to move the bedrooms and kitchen down first, then we’ll live out… Keep Reading
Quick Tip-Soap is Soap
What do you do if you’ve been so busy preparing your new house that you’ve run out of liquid dishsoap and have a sink full of dishes? Use shampoo of course! For the most part soap is soap. This is why I use bubblebath as liquid hand soap, and in a pinch can use shampoo… Keep Reading
A Funny Thing Happened
And of course the first thing I thought was “I have to blog this”. I must be more tired than I thought, because this morning after getting up, getting everyone breakfast (1 PB&J Sandwich, 1 fried egg, 1 fried egg sandwich-hey wait, I didn’t eat anything) making sure the kiddos were dressed, kissing Yankee Bill… Keep Reading
