Weird things are happening on Blogger. I’ve typed several posts that have disappeared, some forever, some keep appearing and disappearing. I’m having problems with new posts. So I’m taking a break for today and will return tomorrow.

Frugal Tips for Long Hair

February 3, 2006 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate 6 Comments

DD4, my little princess, has very long hair. She loves her hair. I remember over a year and a half ago when I got my hair cut short her biggest concern was that I was going to make her cut her hair! An active 4 year old girl makes a mess with long hair, and… Keep Reading

Frugal Museum Membership

February 2, 2006 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate 3 Comments

Visited the Discovery Center in Binghamton today. These hands on children’s museums that they have today are amazing. I would have loved to have a place like that to play. The one here in town can actually be a pretty good deal. The price for a child, per visit, is $5.50, an Adult is $4.50…. Keep Reading

This is an oldy but goody for most frugalites-Baking Soda! One of the wonder substances of the universe. It can be used for so many things besides cooking and deoderizing. One of my favorites is to use it as a gentle scrubbing agent for pots and pans. Here is a huge list of uses for… Keep Reading

Books to Keep

February 1, 2006 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate Leave a Comment

I do tend to just get my books from the library. But sometimes you run into a reference book that you really want – a cookbook, craftbook or gardening book in my case. . . . begins with a single step. ( Lao-tzu, The Way of Lao-tzu (604 BC – 531 BC) ) Today I just wanted to take a minute to talk about the process of becoming frugal. I know I look pretty darn together and frugal when you read my articles, but as I state in… Keep Reading

Did you know that Walmart has a free trial page on their website? You can find it here. I just signed up for the samples of Degree Deoderant, Gain Laundry Det, and Sugar Free Cookies. We’ll see how long it takes to get them. I plan on checking back every once in a while to… Keep Reading

Quick Tip 1/28

January 28, 2006 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate 3 Comments

I don’t buy liquid hand soap anymore. I go to the dollar store and buy the largest size bubble bath/body wash I can find. Yesterday at Real Deals for a Dollar in Norwich I got a bottle of 33.5 oz (plumeria scented-mmmm) for, of course, a dollar. That will last me for a couple of… Keep Reading
