Welcome to the third day of the Frugal Thanksgiving Mini Series! So far we have shared some of our best frugal Thanksgiving Side Dishes and our Desserts (and don’t worry, if you didn’t have a chance to link your side dish or dessert the Mr. Linky will be open all week).
Today we are looking at crafts and decorations-frugal style.
I’ve got to admit. I’ve got nothing. Really! I don’t have anything that I’ve done personally that is fabulous and frugal craft/decoration wise.
I do however love the power of Google-so I’ve found some great ideas online to share with you.
Now, I’ve talked before about how reading “Martha Stewart Living” can make me feel inadequate. NO-ONE can live like that all the time, unless they have a staff like you know who. But I’ve got to hand it to her-she has a rocking website for frugalites. There are tons of fabulous, classy printables and craft ideas on there. Just don’t try to do all of them at once, ok? You’ll make the rest of us look bad!
So here, from Martha, are a few great Thanksgiving printable crafts/decorations. They have Turkey Placecards, Pinecone Turkey, Squirrel Paper Treat Holders, Mayflower Boat Centerpiece with Mini Boat Placecards, Pom Pom Turkey Craft, and Turkey Centerpiece and Placecards.
There is also a whole list of family friendly Thanksgiving crafts on Family Fun.com
So on this one I really need your help folks-because I’ve never actually tried any of those crafts above. Have you ever made a simple, elegant and fabulous table centerpiece, found a way to decorate the house on a budget, or come up with a family friendly craft that the kiddos love to do? Heck-even if you just try one of the printables above and then want to write a post about it, we’d love to see the finished product. Link away!
Participating in the series is easy! It’s just three simple steps
1-Post your favorite dessert recipe. It’s fine to dig through your archives and find a good one you posted last year, although personally I would just repost it as a “Best of” . Make sure you let folks know that you are entering it in the Frugal Thanksgiving Mini Series.
2-Enter the link in the Mr. Linky below. Please put a clue in parenthesis next to your name like this :
3-Grab the badge code from my right sidebar and share the love! The more folks who participate, the better resource this series becomes for all of us.
And you know what? If you don’t have a blog, that’s ok too! Just send it to me via my comments form, and I’ll give you your very own post here at Frugal Upstate and even do the linking too.
Make sure you tune in all week for the rest of the series. Tomorrow, Thursday is Frugal and Fun Thanksgiving Traditions, and Friday is Best Frugal Ideas/Recipes for Turkey Leftovers. Saturday will be a roundup with links to all the previous days and my favorite link from each.
Again-the Mr. Linkys will stay open all week, so if you think of a fabulous side dish on Thursday, don’t worry! Go right on back and link it. The point of the series is to make a resource that readers can come back to at any point to find the recipes they need to have a fabulous, frugal Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the cute craft ideas from Martha Stewart. And they look easy too! My favorite! I’ll have to grab some grandkids and give them a try! Thank you 🙂
I am loving those Martha crafts! Even though there won’t be kids at our table, I just may make those little mayflowers–too cute!
Sorry, Jenn, I’ve got nothing for decorations.
I’ve got food covered from every angle, but decorations, not so much. I hope you get lots of great ideas! I’ll be back to look at them. 🙂
