How to Dye Coconut

Lots of Easter baking and crafts call for some green coconut “grass” to dress things up.  I used some in the packaging for my Easter Surprise Sugar Cookies:

and last year for my cute little Easter Bunny Cakes:

Dyeing coconut is easy to do!

Simply take your coconut and put it in a plastic bag.  Put a few drops of green food coloring (or whatever color you need) inside, squeeze out some of the air and seal the baggie.  Then just start massaging it around until the color has spread through all the coconut.  If it isn’t dark enough or doesn’t color it all, just add another drop or two.

Easy!
