Happy Crafterday!

It’s a new year. . . did you set any goals or make any resolutions?  One of the things I always consider in January is the state of my health in general.  After the holiday chaos (and gluttony) I try to get back into the swing of having a more healthy lifestyle.  One of the things I find falls by the wayside over the holiday, and always is a goal for me come January is drinking enough water.  I like to drink at least 6 8oz glasses of water a day, but it’s easy to lose track.

Here’s an easy craft to help!  It’s a counter made from beads.

Make a Water Bottle Bead Counter

This video is a bit long–you can probably just skim through it to get the idea (it certainly doesn’t take 6 minutes to explain this concept–you could just watch from about 1:30 to 3:00).  The lady here is using fairly expensive beads and some suede lace, but you could make the same thing out of cheap plastic pony beads and some yarn or thin ribbon.  You also don’t need to use the nice metal ring like she does–you could just tie a loop in the top of the yarn to place over the neck of your bottle.

Don’t want to watch a video?  The Daily Dish has a “Tips to Stay Hydrated and Easy Bead Counter Tutorial” article you could take a look at.

Don’t feel crafty?  Why not!?! It’s Crafterday!  Even so–if you don’t feel crafty, here’s a super simple idea to keep track of your water intake with no skill involved:
