Frugal Baby Shower Ideas

I’m helping to plan my sister in law’s baby shower, so I’ve been searching the web for cool ideas.

#1, I am going to make a diaper cake. I’ve found lots of various ideas and examples online. I’ll probably use this tutorial and decorate it with small baby items from the dollar store. This may not be super frugal, but it is a cute and USEFUL gift since the diapers and decorations can all be used later.

#2 I found several sites with free baby shower invitation templates (I think I’m going to try the one shaped like a baby diaper!) and free printable candy wrappers. There are also sites with suggestions for baby shower invitation wording-just do a google search!

#3 There are tons of baby shower game sites online (like here and here) so we have plenty of ideas for fun things to do.

#4 We are going to have the shower midafternoon so it will be snacky foods and not a brunch or lunch (less expensive and easier to cook since stuff doesn’t need to be kept hot) The exact menu hasn’t been decided-but if we are cooking it should be easy to keep the costs down.
