Who loves Halloween? We do! We live right on the main strip in our village where EVERYONE goes trick or treating. Seriously. We get hundreds of kids every year. So we deck out the house with all the great decorations I’ve collected from Walmart over the years–both with my spooky but classy outside, and my fun inside Halloween Decor.
Walmart’s got plenty of Halloween for all your needs. Costumes for kids, Adults, even pets. . . and of course some great Halloween recipes and party ideas. Like the Mummy Dogs I made for Halloween last year!
They asked us to head on in to Walmart and pick out some costumes for this year. I can’t resist a fun assignment like that. I left the kiddos alone in the costume aisle and went to grab some milk. When I came back they had made their choices.
Buddy decided to be a banana. Yes. Seriously. I was a bit surprised at first. “Are you SURE you want to be a banana?”. “Yes Mom, it’s funny!”. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense. Buddy has a pretty ironic/sarcastic sense of humor. He loves Calvin & Hobbes and Dilbert. He enjoys puns. So I can kind of understand the banana. And not just any Banana but one with a mustache (to make it even better).
He put on the Banana Costume, covered his face with the yellow Halloween Makeup, and put on the Self Adhesive Mustache. With the goblin hand trick or treat bag, he’s read for Halloween. Of course unlike the picture I’ll make him wear shoes. . .
Princess went in another direction. She really wanted to be a Tardis for Halloween, but Walmart was sold out online. So instead she chose to go a bit goth with the Zombie Fairy.
We started with the Zombie Fairy Costume (complete with tattered wings), added a Gothic Wig, and she did up her face with the makeup, to include fake scars on her leg, arm and face. Because Zombies aren’t known for their fashion sense (although she’s looking pretty stylish) she decided to wear two different shoes from her closet and instead of a fairy wand carry a executioner style Halloween Axe. On Halloween night she’ll add the killer super long fake eyelashes too!
I think they look fantastic, and we didn’t spend a fortune either. I’m sure that with the theater stuff and Odyssey of the Mind skits the kids do each year they will get some extra use out of all the costume pieces.
