Princess and I have our birthday this month, only a few days apart! (As does my SIL, a nephew and one of YB’s uncles. Busy month).
As I mentioned before, I am busy planning a “Rock Star” birthday party for Princess-when complete I’ll give a rundown on what I did, how I did it, and how much it cost. Last year I managed to spend only $52 on her party, this year may be a tad more.
As for me, usually YB and I just go out to a nice dinner. This year “Jesus Christ Superstar”‘s Broadway Tour group is coming through town right around my B-day, so he’s taking me to that. I love that show.*
But just to add to the general joy, when I logged onto my email this morning there was a note from Cold Stone Creamery (a very expensive ice cream joint) that Princess and I could go print out our birthday coupons for a free ice cream creation.
It didn’t cost anything to sign up for the “Birthday Club”, and to be frank, probably the only time I’ll set foot in there and eat their yummy but expensive ice cream will be when we redeem each of our tickets. One adult can go online and register the entire family-which is what I did. So if you are interested, click on through to the Cold Stone Creamery Birthday Club.
*Yes, the tickets are around $70 each. This is one of those things that I really enjoy. I always say the point of frugality, once you are out of debt, is to conserve money on the areas that aren’t as important to you (or that you can conserve without sacrificing your quality of life) so that you have money to spend on the things that you truly enjoy.

Happy Birthday! I was reading the Press online and saw that there is a broadway run at the Forum. I only remember operas being there. When I was in high school, because we were part of the choir/band we were able to usher. I think it’s great, and I hear it’s a great show. I have a busy birthday month too..my sister, who lives in Vestal, has a birthday on the 13th, my daughter is the 14th, our puppy is on the 8th, two nephews on the 15 and 18, sister-in-law on the 4th..whew. I think that’s it. Have a fun time. I love hearing about my hometown. I miss it.
I would like to wish you both a Happy Birthday. You may be interested I have put together a set of free printable birthday cards which you may find useful and a good way to save money.
