Quick Tip: Keep Cool Cooking Outside

When the weather is hot and you are trying to keep the house cool-cook outside!

Our grill has a handy single pot burner on the side-I think it’s supposed to be for cooking BBQ sauce or something-but it’s big enough to use my spaghetti pot on!  So just by stepping out on my deck I can cook anything that I’d cook on the stove.

Of course you can also use the grill as a, well, grill.  There are some unusual things like pizza and bread that you can make as well as your more typical slab ‘o meat and skewer o’ veggies 🙂

If you have an electrical outlet outside you can make a crockpot meal and then plug it in outside (or in the garage, or in the basement).

    With an outdoor outlet, you can also move most cooking outside onto a hotplate. Of course, there are solar ovens. Sooo want to make one of those!

    And then you can also use your car as a solar oven, if the weather is hot enough. Here are baking instructions I found:
