Bargain Alert-Hanes Women and Girls Cotton Underwear

April 16, 2007 By Jenn @ Frugal Upstate 4 Comments

I just got back from the Dollar Tree store here near my mom, so I don’t know how widespread this deal is-folks will have to check near them and let me know-but they had women’s and girls 3pks of Hanes cotton underwear on sale for, of course, a dollar.

At this store they had girls bikinis in size 4, girls briefs in sizes 8, 10 and 14, Women’s sports high cuts in size 6, Women’s string bikini cut in size 7 and Women’s regular briefs in size 10.

Knowing the regular prices of women’s underwear-which I always think is a total rip off-I was pleased to see that they had a size that I wear (I’m not telling) and bought 3 packages. This is very timely as I have started to see elastic peeking out of most of my current underwear. Shoddy workmanship I tell you, they’re only 5 or is it 6 years old. (or is it 7?) I immediately called my mom who said to pick her up a couple of packs in a size that may be too large for her (but can be donated to a women’s shelter or such if it is). This may be a good way to help out a favorite local charity and buy some for them as well (women’s shelters etc may have a need).

Unfortunately Princess wears a 6-and totally refuses to wear briefs-only bikinis. She hates the feeling of the elastic over her belly button. If they had bikinis I would have bought about 4 pks each in each of the larger sizes of girls and saved them until she could fit into them.

I will check out the Dollar Tree near home when I get back to see if they have different selection of sizes.

Good luck bargain hunting.

    Good deal!

Last summer I was able to pick up a couple of packs of irregulars (3 pr/$1) and they wear just fine.

I think Princess takes after her two youngest Aunties! 🙂 Down with briefs!

It made me laugh, also to imagine your graying, threadbare undies!

Thank you for the tip. After you gave a previous alert on organic canned tomato products at the “Dollar Tree,” there weren’t any at my local “Dollar Tree” in Virginia but I found a similar deal on them at “Big Lots.”

Thanks! I love your Dollar Tree alerts. I don’t get out as much anymore, so you are a big help.
