Bargain Alert-Local-Yarn!

Bargain Alert-Yarn!

This one is for the local folks. Real Deals for a Dollar in Norwich has a bunch of really nice yarns in for, of course, a dollar a skien.

Aran/Gold, Victorian/Gold and White/Silver

TLC Cara Mia in Colors:2805, 2501, 2001, 2205, 2334 (See the color chart on the linked page)

Red Heart Soft Baby in Bananna and Laddie

Aunt Lydia’s Denim Cotton in the admittedly sort of homely colors of Rose and Oxford (I bought 2 balls of this-it’s 400 yards each-I’m going to try knitting a cotton tank top for this summer in the rose once my carpal tunnel calms down)

Lion Red Heart Baby Fingering in baby yellow and baby print (white w/pastel flecks) this yarn is apparently no longer being made.

Lion Crochet cotton worsted weight in fuschia

Lion’s Wool Ease in a few shades of brown

And of course their usually complement of various acrylic shades.

If you aren’t local, a couple of good internet sites which have been recommended to me (I have not bought from them myself) are:

Knit Picks – has a really nice catalog-order one for free
Smileys Yarn Sale-Highly recommended by one of the Ladies on Frugal Living

Happy knitting/crocheting/crafting!

I’ll tell you what I find frugal about crochet. When my hands are busy crocheting, I’m not eating, LOL!
I wish I had a real deal by me–a dollar a skein is a great buy!

It is a great buy-I had to resist buying a bunch of stuff “just in case” I already have 8 skiens of Lions “polarspun” that I bought their, as well as some Fishermans wool for a sweater and lots of miscellaneous skiens. . . .oh the evil unfrugal lure of building your yarn stash!
