A few weeks ago I installed “Snap” previews, where that little window pops up when you roll over a link. I can’t remember who’s blog I saw it on, but I thought it was cool, and it was free.
Then I added a poll over on the sidebar, and I’ve got a video embedded in a post.
Well, then one of my favorite bloggers, Meredith over at Like Merchant Ships (and if you haven’t ever gone over and checked her out, shame on you) decided to install the Snap previews as well because she saw them here. Well, within a day she took them off again because so many folks with dial-up said her page was loading so slowly.
Now, I have no idea how many of my regulars are on dial-up and no one has said anything and complained. So I am asking-has anyone had a problem since I installed the previews? They are fun and cool and all, but not necessary in any way. If it is making things difficult for a few I’m happy to take them off.
Also, in Meredith’s comments “bfine107” said that there was a way to disable the Snap previews in your browser. (quote is from the comments linked above)

I personally don’t like it. But if anyone
else doesn’t they also have the option of disabling it for their browser:http://www.snap.com/about/spa_faq.php#2

I haven’t done this myself, but it sounds like if you install the cookie, then each time after that you visit my site you won’t see the snap previews again.
Again, if I get a few folks on here telling me that they are annoying I’ll just take them off. I’m not that attached.

I think they’re fine. The only thing I’d like to know is how you make them big enough to actually see the page!
I saw a little girl in McDonalds over the weekend, and she was so precious. She had light brunette hair, strands were coming out of her loosely-tied ponytail, and her laugh and smile were infectious. She ran up to a slightly older boy and said, “Come play with me.” It was so cute and she eventually got the boy to play with her.
Well, I want to have a little contest called “Battle of the Bloggers.” I wrote about it last week, and my readers were less-than-enthusiastic about the contest. I cannot be entered myself, but I want to host a competiton that, more than anything, will expose me and others to good blogs that we don’t know about to date. Please visit my blog at http://dsmoya31410.blogspot.com to see the details. So if you want to nominate a blog for this competition, please do so. I don’t really care who wins; I just want to know about quality blogs. Sorry if this looks like spam. I am just trying to spread the word.
I don’t like them because it seems like my courser is always wandering over to the links and then I can’t see what I wanted to read behind them. It’s a feature that I’m having to learn how to work around and appreciate sites that don’t use it. But, if people like it, well then they should add it if they want to. 🙂
The pop-ups make me bonkers and I’m not on dial-up. I love your site, though!
The snap-ups, or whatever you call them, don’t cause me any problems with page loading; however, I really don’t like them. Pretty much what the two commenters before me said.
It won’t make me stop coming, though!
